RETURNS

What is your return and exchanges policy?

In the United States, returns have a massive climate impact, accounting for approximately 24 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions and 4.27 billion tons of landfill waste in 2023 alone. Consistent with our corporate goal of making a positive difference regarding GHG emissions, we therefore ask you to purchase only those items where you have confidence that they meet your specific requirements. Our return and exchange policy varies by manufacturer. Please review the relevant product detail page(s) for further information, and contact us at support@thecarbonplatform.com if you have any questions.

Where manufacturers accept returns or exchanges, for items to be eligible for a return or exchange, each item must (i) be in the same condition that you received it, (ii) unworn or unused, (iii) with original tags, and (iv) in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return or exchange, you must contact us at returns@thecarbonplatform.com. If your request is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return question at returns@thecarbonplatform.com.

Irrespective of who manufactured the item(s) to be returned, please note that to be eligible for a refund or exchange, items must not be from a category where the sale is considered final, for example, as described on the product detail page. Additionally, certain types of items can never be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as intimate or sanitary goods, or beauty products). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Please note that as an operator of an online marketplace, and to the extent legally permitted, The Carbon Platform does not make nor represent to make any offer of warranty for a product or service you purchase on the marketplace. Rather, warranties (if any) are provided by manufacturers and/or service providers, and require adherence to their Terms of Service or other conditions set forth by these business entities as a precondition to warranty coverage. To the extent permitted by law, you acknowledge and agree that you will interact directly with the relevant manufacturer or service provider where you believe you have a valid warranty claim in order to resolve any such claim, for example pertaining to, but not limited to, any product defects.

How do I request a refund?

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, for each item that qualifies for a return, within 30 days of your purchase, please send an email to us at returns@thecarbonplatform.com including the following information:

1. Your name

2. Your order number

3. The item(s) that you would like to return (please check first that the item(s) can be returned by looking at the product page(s) on our website)

4. The reason(s) you are requesting a return

5. Whether you would like a refund or an exchange

If we are able to offer you a refund or exchange we will send a prepaid return label to you that you can use to ship materials back to us.

Note that (in addition to being returnable), items must be unopened and unused, original tags must be attached in their original condition, and the items must be repackaged in their original packaging.

After receiving your shipment we will inspect it and contact you with next steps (such as providing a refund or to notify you that an exchange will be shipped).

We will cover the cost of shipping one return or exchange package back to us per order number, so please carefully review the products you receive to account for this policy. In the event that we offer a refund, we will deduct the shipping charge for originally sending the item to you, and for the return shipping cost.

How long does it take to receive a refund after a product has been returned?

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at returns@thecarbonplatform.com.
